Litany of the Undiagnosed: A Prayer of Surrender in Uncertainty

God, the Father of Heaven, have mercy on us.
God the Son, Redeemer of the world, have mercy on us.
God the Holy Spirit, have mercy on us.
Holy Trinity, one God, have mercy on us.

Blessed Mother, Mary Most Holy, pray for us.
St. Joseph, Mirror of Patience, pray for us.
St. Michael the Archangel, pray for us.
Sts. Cosmas and Damian, pray for us.
St. Juliana Falconieri, pray for us.
Our Lady of Lourdes, pray for us.

From the fear of the worst case scenario, deliver me, Jesus.
From the fear of indefinite suffering, deliver me, Jesus.
From the fear of no earthly relief, deliver me, Jesus.
From the fear of my own body, deliver me, Jesus.
From the fear of being right in my conjecture, deliver me, Jesus.
From the fear of being wrong, deliver me, Jesus.
From the fear of knowing the answers I seek, deliver me, Jesus.
From the fear of not knowing, deliver me, Jesus.
From the fear of speaking out, deliver me, Jesus.
From the fear of staying silent, deliver me, Jesus.
From the fear of humiliation, deliver me, Jesus.
From the fear of powerlessness, deliver me, Jesus.
From the fear of weakness, deliver me, Jesus.
From the fear of pain, deliver me, Jesus.

From the spirit of indecision, deliver me, Jesus.
From the spirit of anxiety, deliver me, Jesus.
From the spirit of rash judgment, deliver me, Jesus.
From the spirit of hopelessness, deliver me, Jesus.

From the sin of anger, deliver me, Jesus.
From the sin of pride, deliver me, Jesus.
From the sin of despair, deliver me, Jesus.

That I may be willing to accompany you into this darkness,
following your light,
Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it.

That I may release from my grasp anything that is not mine to control,
replacing those things with your strong hand,
Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it.

That I may cooperate with the people you send as your instruments
to help me confront this problem,
Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it.

That I may relinquish my hopes and plans
in favor of whatever you want,
Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it.

That I may offer my suffering as a sanctifying gift for the life of the world,
in union with your Passion,
Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it.

O Jesus, Divine Physician,
I surrender to this cloud of unknowing,
trusting that in you alone I am fully known.

O Jesus, Divine Physician,
I abandon myself to your perfect care
of my mortal body and my immortal soul.

Lord, have mercy.
Christ, have mercy.
Lord, have mercy.
